Well the good news is - we didn't have to sit in the "fish room" - but were taken to a bright sunny consultation room. The sunshine dimmed as we discussed Ella's options. Her consultant wants to stick to his plan - lots more chemo, but initially at reduced levels to see how Ella copes. He believes that this is the very best chance they can give her of the cancer not returning in the future. Then eventually surgery again on her arm to start putting it back together. So she has started cycle five today (he would like her to have eight or nine cycles!!!!!!!!!). The initial dump of cycle five will only take two days - but then we watch and wait over the following two weeks to see how her body copes.
Of course Ella is the patient and can choose when to stop chemo - so the ball is back in her court, but as I say she agreed to have cycle five. He did remind her/us - that only a few years ago in the same situation she would have by now "lost her arm". The sun seriously went behind a cloud at that point.
Sophie - a good review all very positive (but important to remember it's fragile). So we celebrated with the dinner of her choice, grilled fish, cous cous and salad!!!
PS, the chairs seemed even lower today - but managed to hold off on the tissues......
Thoughts, feelings and updates from Allington Rd (and various hospitals) - so you know, because I know you want to know. I started this blog in November 2011 - so there is a big archive section at the bottom of this page if you want to trawl through and get all the past news.

How you find the time to right this blog is beyond me. You are all really amazing. Hope the Penny Brohn centre proves peaceful, it's just 50 feet from our old flat in an amazing part of the world. Lots of lovely walks down there towards the river along the river bank and up into Leigh Court. Take care all Joel x
