Cycle five is well under way and all being well Ella will be home later this evening. The chemo will continue to dash around her body killing off the both the bad and good cells. So we will watch carefully for any signs of infection, illness etc. Based on the fact she has had a reduced dose we are hoping upon hope that she stays well and does not have to be rushed into hospital. The next part of cycle five will start in about two weeks time.
In the mean time Ella is keen to apply the principals she heard about at the Penny Brohn cancer centre and wants to fight the cancer through complimentary methods alongside the chemo method.
So nutrition - stacks of fresh fruit/vegetables etc - so lots more juicing, we have a new juicer arriving tonight courtesy of Jan :)
Exercise - this is tough as Ella is so weak from the chemo, and of course her broken arm does not make exercise easy. She is keen to continue her daily ritual of short walks but also wants to have access to an exercise bike. So does anyone have one gathering dust/clothes in their house that we could borrow???
Relaxation and mindfulness (staying in the moment)- Ella is actually quite good at this, its me that needs to focus on this!!!!!
Wishing you all a very peaceful weekend and as ever thank you so much for all your support, well wishes, comments and thoughts. THEY ALL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE x x
Thoughts, feelings and updates from Allington Rd (and various hospitals) - so you know, because I know you want to know. I started this blog in November 2011 - so there is a big archive section at the bottom of this page if you want to trawl through and get all the past news.
Hello, all sounds good, would love to join in with the daily walks (Doug too I'm sure) next week, and relaxation of course! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we could all do with taking a leaf out of Ella's books and focusing on nutrition, exercise and relaxation! xxx Georgina
