Ella has now been in hospital for 8 days during which time I have lost track of how many bags of blood she has been given - but it's a lot - red blood cells and platelets. You can donate both! Thank you if you have, if you are still thinking about it - please go and try very soon.
You can't donate white blood cells, but great news Ella's body has fought back yet again and she finally has a good white blood cell count and is no longer neutropenic, so that will help her to get better.
Do Something Amazing
Remember - only 4% of the eligible population are active blood donors and it's not just Ella that needs blood!

Hi Jo - Ian and I are not allowed to give blood in the US because of the mad cow disease outbreak years ago, but we just realised we can try and set it up for when we are home this week. I'm researching it now. can't wait to see you guys - love to all GAJ xxx
ReplyDeleteI will try and go again as soon as possible. I know how important it is. Glad to hear Ella's white blood cell count is on the rise. I hope she starts feeling better soon :) much love to you all xxx Georgina
