.....is it right to still call this blog "Getting Better"..... and on reflection I have decided the answer is a resounding YES.
When I started the blog it was very much about the physical sense of Ella and Sophie "Getting Better", - current situation with their health, next steps in their treatment plans etc etc. Over the months and even more so now its become more of an emotional and spiritual sense of "Getting Better".
I like the sense that its an indefinite statement and sentiment - and suggests perpetual forward movement with no end goal other than to continue "Getting Better". This may be tiny minuscule steps or giant strides and even (quite often) backwards or sideways steps - but hopefully over time always eventually forwards with no end.
So just for now I am trying to apply the getting better approach:-
at being a better Mum to Sophie - learning to let go and trust
at learning to cope hour by hour without Ella in the physical presence
at accepting the here and now and not rushing to see what the future holds
at listening ....
and hopefully soon (when I am ready) getting better at doing some things that I used to do or have always wanted to do - long walks, learn to play the piano, write, physically fitter.......... who knows, but no rush!
So onwards, hour by hour, day by day under the mantra of Getting Better.....
Lovely words Jo. xxx

ReplyDeleteKeep on blogging Jo, and we'll all keep getting better with you, with every day a new beginning. As you know, numbers not words are my thing, so I'll borrow from Henry David Thoreau "There is no beginning too small".
