Great news...
Ella is now wearing her own hospital pyjamas as opposed to a delightful NHS gown
Two tubes are out - three to go
and yesterday she stood up for a few minutes. They physios are coming later again today and hopefully will get her up and out of bed again.
All still a bit uncomfortable - but definitely progress. Hospital claustrophobia setting in - but again that means she is getting better!
No news yet on next steps - operation or chemo, hospital exit date etc etc etc
and welcome back... HAIR! As Ella has not had chemo for quite a while her hair is growing back, fantastically reassuring to see it. Everyone tells you it will grow back, but until you actually see it you cant quite believe it! We know it will disappear again when the chemo regime starts up, but at least we now have the reassurance that it will grow again :)
Think Sinead O'Connor - but even more stunning
Thoughts, feelings and updates from Allington Rd (and various hospitals) - so you know, because I know you want to know. I started this blog in November 2011 - so there is a big archive section at the bottom of this page if you want to trawl through and get all the past news.
Looking forward to seeing you both in Oxford on Thursday, if you're still there. Lots of love Kate x
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Ella yesterday, very perky and chatty I thought; although that was straight after a visit from friend Amy which seemed to have been a tonic (along with the jelly babies?)
