Enough daffodils and bananas - back to the plan

OK team - no more nice pictures - we're gearing up again..

Review with Sophie's team tomorrow.

Review with Ella's team on Thursday ... assuming all well she will go back into hospital for more chemo next week, which will then complete cycle five!  We assume they will then want to start cycle six the following week..

Right keep up all of you - remember, each cycle takes four weeks (assuming all goes to plan) and in the ideal world they want Ella to have eight to nine cycles.  That's a lot of chemo still to come.  Each cycle involves two stints in hospital of between 3-7 nights.

At least this current cycle has run relatively well so far - in that there have been no emergency admissions to hospital, just the usual side effects - exhaustion, weakness, discomfort, ringing ears, foul taste in mouth, internal pressure - the list goes on.

Still no news on when she will go back to Oxford for the second operation on her arm - maybe they will tell us on Thursday.  Even if they do, whats the betting the plan will change.

Top tip for cancer journeys - its tempting to cling to the plan/ your chemo schedule like a life raft - but be prepared for a turbulent ride, with so many twists and turns that at times its not very much like a life raft at all -  more like the Titanic!
