"Heart in your mouth, stomach in your boots.."

That's how it feels as you wait to go into these review type meetings, dreading what the news, suggestions, ideas, thoughts will be -  CUT THE SMALL TALK and get to the point - yes, yes we know the sun is shining and its a lovely day - but what have you got to say???????

Sophie - well all things considered, progress is good - plenty more to do, all moving in the right direction.

Ella - not much to update the consultant was away so we had his new boy/registrar sitting in for him.  Everyone pleased that this cycle has been nearly completed without an unscheduled hospital admission, so Ella will go into hospital for the last chemo dump of this cycle on Monday evening (will probably be there most of the week).  During that stint the decision will be made re cycle six starting the following week and hopefully some discussion re date of the second operation on her arm.

So uneventful meetings - put heart and stomach back into correct positions and SMILE - lets crack on....

  3. Green Shoots – Coventry Fan Club – Friday 23rd March 2012

Sorry I have not written over the past two weeks but have been to Malta – I have kept in contact by reading your blog.

I think (and I would totally agree) that we are all on a journey – all a bit different Ii would agree but hopefully together and sometimes, my journey can seem a bit different that the one I had envisaged. Some people would talk about their journey being seen as a pilgrimage whichever, we are all certainly walking somewhere!!

Your daffodils are certainly better than ours as it is now obvious that Coventry is located in the cold north!

I think your banana photograph is very misleading – you can only eat bananas when they have gone a little ripe so they must have a little black on the skin to ensure they are ripe before being eaten; the other major problem to me is that they seem to grow bananas far too large when all you want is a small banana – what a life!

Life in Coventry is difficult; our football team is bottom of the league – not good news for a town that enjoys its football.

The only good news over the past few weeks in Coventry is that we are currently manufacturing the Olympic torch which I believe will be carried to open the Olympic games in July – I believe they are making 5,000+ of these torches for runs around the country – they look good.

So I will watch my diet and my flowers over the coming weeks.

    Thinking of you all.

    1. Ah thanks Peter - so good to have a fan club in Coventry - sorry about the football, but great news re the torches. One of Ella's best friends is carrying the torch at some point on its journey - which is very exciting

  5. Hello Luxembourg office here..... Just forwarded give blood message to the masses here via facebook. I say masses, there are only 400,000 and half of them leave every day back to France, Germany of Belguim, leaving 200,000 of us in dinky Lux. Either way there is enough to make a difference. Not sure what quality the blood will be as everybody high on Belgium chocloate, cheap cigerettes and strong European lager. I'm still off the cigerettes, memories of the look of disapproval from you and others a powerful motivator to keep off them. PS, only small fraction of poplation are friends with me on faceboook but its a start.
