Nearly through the weekend and only one unscheduled dash to the hospital yesterday (massive nose bleed - so debilitating), and then one scheduled visit for Mepact this afternoon.
I managed to be brave once and actually made it out and away for 24 hours to Mark's sisters 50th birthday party. Believe it or not these kind of situations are incredibly hard for me - you dread the well meaning conversations and questions from people who know you but haven't seen for you a while (or ages) and equally from people you don't know you but ask things like "do you have any children?" "how are they, what are there plans etc?" If anybody has any top tips for how you cope with these situations - please do let me know. I am hopeless - veering between rude, flippant and blatant lying!
I know that everyone means so well and cares - but I have to be really "up for it to cope". So apologies if I am or have been evasive/distant or just not there! One day normal service will be resumed.
Anyway this picture got posted on Facebook, so in case you missed it and want to check out that I can still scrub up well - here it it is! My heartfelt thanks to Ella who was clever enough to style me and gave me the confidence that I could wear her dress, and generous enough to send me on my way and say "make sure you have a good time" Also to Sophie - chief shoe adviser and shopping buddy!
PS - the boy scrubs up well!
What a fab photo - you both scrub up well!
ReplyDeleteI hope you three girls can make it to a slightly less posh 50th do on Sat week (jeans will do in The Lion), most people there will be people you know and readers of this blog, so hopefully not too much of an ordeal!
ReplyDeleteI will be there in some shape or format at some point - even if I have to bring the entire Oncology hospital with me! My little brother turning 50!!!!
