Tangled Christmas Tree Lights......

...remember this post from a few months ago -

Maya Angelou said this: 'I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.'

'I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.'

So yesterday we managed to put up a Christmas tree and decorate it..... I remained calm and sane as I unpacked the lights and threw them over the tree - that's a first!  Ella would be proud of me.  (She was very good at banishing me from the room whilst she sorted, untangled the lights and got them working).

Then with some sadness of heart and very slowly we hung some bits and pieces on the tree and it really does look quite lovely.

Not sure how long it will continue to look lovely - our mate Brian is very keen on swinging from the bottom branches and swiping the baubles off the tree.

So Mrs Angelou and Ella - big tick for me - managed the lights, big tick for Sophie she made the tree look lovely, big smile for Brian - continuing to amuse and distract - but - "will it be better tomorrow?"

  1. I quite like the odd rainy day, my two episodes with lost luggage were not ones to be proud of and I have not tangled with Xmas tree lights since the 70s, when Mum sorted any problems. Well done to Sophie and you to facing up to what must have been a huge challenge, love U. Bob

  8. I am not too bad at all with rain....try to think of it as 'liquid sunshine!' I have little patience with tree lights and even less trying to get clingfilm untangled from a roll ! dont know if you can recall the time jo that you calmly took an offending tangled clingfilm from me and sorted it for me with no fuss.....i think of that most times i encounter clingfilm but never with the same finesse!
the tradition of the tree must have been so tough. well done for making it happen and look good. our tree is subject to the little hands of tommy and kezia and the shiny baubles have the same effect on them as it probably does to brian!

    love and hugs. Tina xxxx

I am sure you and Sophie will love each other just that little bit more on Christmas day morning with very special thoughts of Ella. Much love to you all……………Jayne xx
