Ella's fund - launched....

...and up and running!

Today Ella made the front page ( and second and tenth) of the Evening Post with her story  Lasting Legacy of Cancer Victim

It was our chance to launch the campaign to raise £10,000 towards better facilities for teenage cancer patients - particularly in the South West.  As followers of this blog you will all know that Ella had to spend over 100 nights in hospital during her illness and often felt isolated, lonely and scared.  Being treated on a ward specifically set up for young people aged 18-24 would have made a huge difference to her.  So here we are trying to do what she wanted us to do.

So far a swim, run, cycle and cricket match have been planned.  There is also talk of an art exhibition (Jude) and Maisy wants to know who has any contacts in the cosmetic industry - we want to talk to them about a nail varnish in Ella's name that can be commercially produced and sold - with a donation from every bottle sold  going to the TCT.  "Ella Red"  "Redmania"   - who can help with any contacts?

All other fund raising suggestions very very welcome - just let us know, we also need lots of supporters and helpers at events like the Bristol 10K on Sunday 5 May - a team of over 25 need a base, bag holders, bucket holders and cheer leaders - lots of ways to help

Here is the Just Giving Link to donate any money  Remembering Ella Redman

In the meantime I will continue my new blog Dear Ella

  1. Such a lovely piece in the paper. And fantastic to have the events launched. No doubt my Dad will be able to be a base/bag/bucket holder at Bristol 10k :) xxx

  2. What a brilliant idea for the nail varnish though sadly have no suitable contacts, as my pathetically out of date make up collection can attain too! We will keep an eye on your plans for an Art exhibition - love a good wander xxx

  3. Pete may be doing 10k, but baby's due less than two weeks' earlier, so we may just be supporting! Will definitely try and make the cricket match at the least. Will rack brain for cosmetic contacts - can't think of anyone off the top of my head, but will ask around at work. Nail varnish is brilliant idea, though. :) Sarah.
