The lovely Sonia taught me a great coping strategy recently - it goes like this:
When she is at the dentist and her mouth is full of implements, hands and gubbins - her dentist says "wave your hands in the air if you are not OK".
Sonia suggested I do this whenever I am struggling, need people to leave me alone, need to escape from where ever I am etc!
So - when you next see me and "I wave my hands in the air" - you'll know what it means......
Anyway the week is done and we are learning to settle into the new rhythm and way - Ella points and directs the way, we simply follow - willingly.
Much love and thanks for all your messages and support
I think we can all relate to this, but need to understand that you, Ella and Sohie may need this at times ; next time you do your impression of an air traffic controller - message understood !
ReplyDeleteGood point Andy; perhaps we should get Jo some of those table-tennis bat things that the ATCs use?
DeleteHi all, back from the mountains....... Funny thing is that Bob is waving his hands in the air in his Blog photo, but he needs no help......... Just wave your hands Jo and ill be there(or not as the case may be)....... Unfortunately Flight 219 not coming in til 18th Nov but thinking of you,loads....... Love Uncle Jim x
ReplyDeleteHave just been watching a female blackbird taking a bath - waving her wings and every other part of her, in the air. Have named her Jo!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you

Non-verbal communication can be very effective - I'm currently perfecting the "do not even think of continuing to constantly repeat my name or tap my arm in the manner of an excited woodpecker" glare and eyebrow arch with my class of cherubs though we still have some way to go!
ReplyDeleteHope you have all had a restful weekend with some memorable 'BT's.'
My three for today were:
The satisfaction felt when we had finished scrubbing and cleaning the decking.
The little robin who bounced around the garden the whole time we were doing it - not at all fazed by the noisy power hose.
The plum crumble cooked by Billie - made all the more delicious with the addtion of chopped almonds and coconut...she is her fathers daughter!
Much love to all xxx
Hi Jo. this is Ian the manager of Sonic Boom Six, who Ella was going to see in Leeds last week, but obviously couldn't. We're going to drop some stuff off today in Bristol at Georgina's place, with her dad.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Ian
